Cycle app
Fall 2024 | Mobile App Design
Cycle is a fictional bike‑sharing mobile platform that aims to provide an affordable, environmentally friendly, and convenient way to move around the city of Dallas. The app allows users to explore popular bike routes, purchase low‑cost rental passes, and earn discounts through the Cycle rewards program.
The visual identity draws inspiration from the colors and character of Dallas, using blues and greens to reflect both the city’s landscape and the platform’s commitment to eco‑friendly transportation.
The Cycle app solves major bike‑rental frustrations by combining all essential features into one platform: it uses GPS mapping to help users quickly find nearby bikes, streamlines checkout and group rentals, provides built‑in navigation with curated Dallas bike routes, lowers costs through affordable passes and a mileage‑based rewards program, and promotes sustainable travel by donating to climate nonprofits when users redeem points.
Recognition
People renting bikes or e‑bikes in Dallas face several recurring frustrations: it’s hard to locate available bikes, rental prices are often high or inconsistent, checkout processes are slow, and there’s no single place to find reliable bike paths or plan routes. Both residents and visitors end up juggling multiple apps just to ride, navigate, and manage rentals for themselves or their group.
Audience interviews revealed that renters want affordable, easy‑to‑use, and navigation‑friendly solutions, especially those traveling with family or commuting daily. Residents seek cost‑effective long‑term options, while visitors want simple group management and route discovery for exploring the city.
